We're working with a leading specialist tax consultancy known for its work in investigations, compliance, and complex advisory projects. You'll work alongside a highly experienced team offering advice to a broad client base - including accountants, SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals - on everything from HMRC disclosures to dispute resolution.

The Role:

This is a fast-paced and intellectually rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll:

  • Provide written and verbal consultancy on complex tax investigations and HMRC challenges
  • Guide clients through enquiries into personal, partnership, and corporate tax returns
  • Review and interpret tax legislation, HMRC guidance, and case law to deliver practical advice
  • Handle specialist disclosures under initiatives such as the Let Property Campaign and Worldwide Disclosure Facility
  • Support clients facing HMRC teams such as Counter Avoidance and Fraud Investigation
  • Build a niche area of expertise within the investigations space
  • Work collaboratively with peers to share knowledge and identify opportunities for additional consultancy work
  • Contribute to marketing, content writing, and thought leadership in line with tax changes and client needs
About You:
  • HMRC background or extensive tax investigations experience in practice
  • Deep understanding of compliance procedures, enquiry processes, discovery assessments, and statutory appeals
  • Strong communication skills - confident presenting advice to both accountants and end clients
  • Practical exposure to areas such as CGT, payroll, residency, and international tax is beneficial
  • Comfortable researching and interpreting complex technical issues
  • Commercially minded with a collaborative and proactive approach
