Main Function of the Position
As the Compliance & Safety Manager, you will provide leadership in Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and Security compliance across the site and associated facilities. The role is responsible for managing safety systems, safe systems of work, and ensuring compliance with relevant ISO standards and industry regulations. The postholder will drive a culture of safety excellence, ensuring best practices, monitoring environmental compliance, and maintaining the highest standards for site operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and improve site safety procedures and monitoring systems.
- Ensure compliance with ISO45001 and other quality management standards.
- Manage health and safety risk assessments, SSOW, and method statements.
- Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement improvements.
- Deliver safety initiatives, toolbox talks, and training sessions to site personnel.
- Act as audit lead, ensuring site readiness for internal and external audits.
- Provide leadership and support during planned and unplanned outages.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, presenting the organization in a professional manner.
- Oversee contractor safety and ensure compliance with environmental procedures.
- Maintain accurate health and safety performance data and reporting.
Person SpecificationEssential Knowledge & Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of waste management and health & safety legislation.
- Strong understanding of ISO45001 and quality management standards.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate with expertise in data management and reporting.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of power generation or process technology.
- Understanding of environmental regulations, including permitting and licensing.
