Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30am – 3:45pm 

Start date: Monday 13th October 2025 

Core Education is currently working with a lovely primary school based in the Runcorn area who have requirements for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil who has Autism providing 1:1 support. 

SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Create an inclusive learning environment
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers and parents
  • Motivate and engage students
  • Provide 1:1 support to a year 3 student with Autism
  • Support the teacher to plan innovative and engaging lessons which will meet the needs of the child
  • Work with the childs EHCP plans supporting their learning
  • Promote learning and personal development of the student, adapting learning activities to meet their needs

SEN Teaching Assistant Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Experience working with students with additional needs such as, ASD
  • Be able to demonstrate recent classroom experience and strong behaviour management skills
  • Be committed to supporting the children where necessary
  • Have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or relevant experience of working with children
  • Working within a SEN school or Primary school setting and be confident in using their initiative
  • Qualification within Education is desirable

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will need an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
