Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Temporary to permanent
Duration: Permanent
Location: Runcorn
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30am – 3:45pm
Start date: Monday 6th October 2025
Core Education is currently working with a lovely primary school based in the Runcorn area who have requirements for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil who has Complex learning needs, including Autism and ADHD, to provide 1:1 support to the child.
SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Create an inclusive learning environment
- Experience working with children with ADHD and Autism
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers and parents
- Motivate and engage students
- Provide 1:1 support to a year 2 student with Autism
- Support the teacher to plan innovative and engaging lessons which will meet the needs of the child
- Work with the childs EHCP plans supporting their learning
- Promote learning and personal development of the student, adapting learning activities to meet their needs
SEN Teaching Assistant Experience:
- Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Experience working with students with additional needs such as, ASD, Complex needs and ADHD
- Be able to demonstrate recent classroom experience and strong behaviour management skills
- Be committed to supporting the children where necessary
- Have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or relevant experience of working with children
- Working within a SEN school or Primary school setting and be confident in using their initiative
- Qualification within Education is desirable
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will need an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
