My client is a growing Construction organisation seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the team, in an all-encompassing role with a view to moving into the FD position within 5 years.
Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate will assist with running the day-to-day accounting function.
Duties will include:
• Partnering with the Finance Director, deputising when needed whilst owning daily management of the team• Responsible for the monthly management accounts, including a detailed profit loss and balance sheet analysis• Investigate and explain variances in the accounts compared to forecast• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations • Preparation of cash flow forecasting to submit to Group Treasury including commentary• Weekly KPI reporting - including sales performance and short-term cash flow• Assist manage annual audit and preparation of statutory returns• Reviewing and reporting weekly sales, overdue exchanges, unreserved stock plots, plot handover status, build stage status • Participate and lead when needed in key meetings such as weekly sales build and CVR reviews• Account, forecast and report on cost excesses/savings to enable robust decision making• Proactively partnering with managers/directors to streamline processes and tighten controls• Deputising for the FD in key operational meetings as and when required• Developing and improving the ERP system and processes to support operational efficiency • Streamlining existing processes and implementing processes that add value to the
