Job Title: Sewing Machinist
Location: West Sussex
Salary : £27,300
Aspion are recruiting on behalf of our manufacturing client based in the West Sussex area who are seeking a Cutter to join their team.
You will have experience in cutting materials by their specified dimensions ensuring high quality standards are met throughout the production process.
You will need to have great attention to detail and work well within a team.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret and follow cutting instructions, markers, and patterns.
- Operate cutting equipment, such as straight knife, round knife, band knife, or laser cutting machines.
- Lay out, mark, and cut fabric manually or by machine to ensure minimal material wastage.
- Check materials for defects prior to cutting and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across cut pieces according to production requirements.
- Bundle, label, and record cut components for production tracking.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of fabric and cutting supplies.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations within the cutting area.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on cutting tools and machines.
- Collaborate with pattern makers, sewing staff, and quality control to resolve cutting issues.
You will need your own transport.
Monday to Friday, Early Finish on a Friday 43 hours full time. Other hours would be considered depending on the circumstances.
