The Client
Our client is a leading joint venture contractor delivering essential infrastructure works within the water and utilities sector. With a strong pipeline of secured projects on the Southern Water AMP8 framework, they are looking to strengthen their delivery team with an experienced Project Manager.

The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of civil engineering and utilities schemes, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will provide leadership to project teams, oversee commercial and operational performance, and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project teams delivering water and utilities works under AMP8

  • Develop programmes, budgets, and risk registers, ensuring delivery against client requirements

  • Monitor project progress and costs, reporting regularly to senior management and the client

  • Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are fully implemented

  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour resources effectively

  • Build strong client and stakeholder relationships to support collaborative working

  • Drive innovation, value engineering, and efficiency improvements within delivery

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Project Manager in the civil engineering, utilities, or water sectors

  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams

  • Commercially focused, with proven experience in forecasting, cost reporting, and budget management

  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality compliance

  • Degree qualified in civil engineering or equivalent experience

Location
Kent, with responsibility for projects across the Southern Water AMP8 region.
