The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Skilled Polisher/Fettler Engineer to join a small, focused polishing team within a long-established and respected engineering manufacturer.
This is a hands-on role, working primarily on stainless steel finishes including satin, mirror, shot blast, and scotch-brite. You’ll work both in the polishing shop and on larger machinery outside of the workshop, with occasional customer site visits for equipment installation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Polish and fettler stainless steel components and machinery to a high standard.
- Work with satin, mirror, shot blast, and scotch-bright finishes.
- Operate in a small polishing department and collaborate with a team of metal polishing engineers.
- Work on large machinery outside the polishing shop as required by the size of equipment.
- Assist with on-site installation and finishing of machinery for customers when necessary.
- Maintain safe and clean working practices in a workshop environment with extraction systems.
What You’ll Need
Must-Haves:
- Experience in stainless steel polishing and fettling.
- Skilled in satin, mirror, shot blast, and scotch-bright finishes.
- Able to work on large machinery in workshop and on-site environments.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
- Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work as part of a small team.
Working Hours & Pay
- Monday: 7.30 am – 1.00 pm / 1.30 pm – 4.00 pm
- Tuesday: 7.30 am – 1.00 pm / 1.30 pm – 4.30 pm
- Wednesday/Thursday: 7.30 am – 1.00 pm / 1.30 pm – 5.00 pm
- Friday: 7.30 am – 12 noon (unless working overtime)
Pay: £13.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Overtime may be available as required.
