Are you a qualified Heavy Vehicle professional with teaching experience, ready to pass on your skills to the next generation of engineers?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a learner-focused Engineering department as a Lecturer in Heavy Vehicle on a temporary basis. You'll be delivering engaging, hands-on lessons to apprentices and full-time students, supporting their development in both workshop and classroom settings.

In this role, you'll guide learners through essential heavy vehicle maintenance and repair techniques, embed Maths and English into lessons, and help students understand how their skills connect to wider industry and environmental contexts. You'll also play a key role in pastoral support, curriculum development, and industry engagement - all within a structured Monday to Friday schedule.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle, a recognised teaching qualification (or be working towards one), and have a passion for helping students reach their full potential.



The Role

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Heavy Vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Support apprentices and full-time students across a range of standards
  • Embed Maths and English into vocational sessions
  • Create engaging teaching resources and schemes of work
  • Track learner progress and maintain accurate records

The Person

  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle
  • Recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Strong subject knowledge and teaching ability
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality, and learner success
  • Full UK driving licence
