About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) to join the team at Sellafield. This is a key role in supporting the safe and efficient commissioning of complex mechanical systems within one of the UK's most challenging and highly regulated industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned commissioning tasks safely and effectively in line with established procedures.
- Control, witness, record, and assess commissioning test results, especially where they impact safety.
- Plan and deliver commissioning activities on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain a strong focus on nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities and permissions.
- Review commissioning documentation and test outcomes for accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to related project processes, including design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in nuclear mechanical systems commissioning.
- Background in highly regulated industries - nuclear experience essential, Sellafield experience preferable.
- Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Competent with Microsoft Office and Excel-based calculations.
- Understanding of project management principles (APM membership desirable).
- IOSH Managing Safely and valid trade card required.
- Must be able to obtain BPSS and P4 security clearance.
