Role
Role & Responsibilities
As a Children's Mental Health Support Worker, you will be instrumental in providing vital support to children and young people facing learning disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges. You will deliver daily care, offer respite for families, and design engaging activities that foster well-being and development. You will be making a real difference in the lives of those you support.
Main tasks include
- Delivering high-quality, person-centered care to children and young people.
- Providing emotional and practical support to families.
- Developing and implementing engaging activities that promote well-being and development.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Openness to travel within West Cumbria.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months' recent UK experience working with children and/or adults in a mental health setting or care home.
- A valid UK driving license and access to your own car.
- Valid Right to Work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
- Experience with children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- BILD certified PMVA Course and Classroom Mandatory Training (or willingness to obtain).
- Flexibility to work long day shifts (12 hours).
