Your new companyWe are working on behalf of one of the largest multidisciplinary consultancies in the UK, specialising in the design of major civil & structural engineering projects across the country. Our client can offer a comprehensive range of civil engineering consultancy services to cater for their clients' needs regardless of the scale, nature and complexity of the project. Their civil engineering project portfolio encompasses roads, bridges, sewers, water supply, communications, energy, airports, public transportation, flood defence, canals, dams, ports and harbours, mining and rail. Our clients value their employees over everything else, as a close second to customer/client satisfaction, and their talented workforce is behind their success.Your new roleWe are currently looking, on behalf of our client, to attract and recruit a skilled and ambitious Civil Engineer with relevant under/post grad qualifications, as well as 3+ years of experience in a comparable role. The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to work in one of the UK's leading private Engineering Consultancies, working for clients on a variety of projects spanning the commercial, retail, residential and industrial sectors. Your Regular Responsibilities Will Entail:

  • Design of infrastructure for commercial, retail, residential and industrial sectors, including SUDS drainage systems, roads to adoptable & DMRB standards.
  • Liaison with statutory bodies such as Southern & Thames Water, Roads Department, local drainage authorities.
  • Be proficient in the use of relevant technical analysis, design software, e.g. PDS/Civils 3D/Micro Drainage/causeway flow and AutoCAD.
  • Willing to attend design meetings, site meetings and carry out site inspections.
  • Liaise and communicate clearly in a professional manner to colleagues, clients, contractors and other designers and to offer advice and guidance on matters relating to your work.

What you'll need to succeedOur client is flexible in terms of their criteria for hiring new team members. However, they have asked us to find someone with the following previous experience and soft skills:- Postgraduate Qualification in a relevant field of expertise (Civil Engineering/Civil Design/Structural Design/Highways Design/etc.)- Prior experience of working for either a civil contractor or a civil design consultancy on highways/civil/structural/utilities projects.- Demonstrable experience of managing and implementing design portfolios for relevant projects- Experience of utilising relevant design software such as CAD/AutoCAD- Desire to work hard within a driven team of specialists- Desire to manage graduate & trainee engineers & consultants and guiding themWhat you'll get in return
