Sheffield City Council are looking for a dedicated Business Support Officer to join them for a 5 - month period. This role is essential in providing efficient and effective business support to both internal and external customers, ensuring smooth operations within the council's services.
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide business support to various service areas within the council.
- Handle incoming phone calls from customers, responding to enquiries by providing advice and information.
- Create a positive impression and uphold the reputation of Sheffield City Council.
- Understand and respond to the needs of customers from diverse backgrounds.
- Manage diaries, take messages, and support the coordination of meetings and events, including note-taking and recording action points.
- Perform general office administration tasks such as purchasing goods and services.
- Engage in a culture of continuous improvement across the service.
- Ensure compliance with current Council Policies and Procedures, including those related to health and safety, equalities, diversity, and inclusion, and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience working in a busy office environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of handling phone calls and providing clear advice.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong organisational skills with experience in diary management and event support.
- Knowledge of current Council Policies and Procedures is advantageous.
- Must be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English as required by The Immigration Act 2016.
