Our client is seeking an experienced Doorset Estimator to join their Sheffield-based team. This is a permanent role with training provided though prior experience with doorsets is preferred.
Role Overview
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for doorset projects, ensuring all specifications, materials, and labour are considered.
- Review customer documentation, analyse project drawings and tender documents, and create detailed cost breakdowns.
- Generate quotes and estimates aligned with business development and customer expectations.
- Develop production schedules for integration into the manufacturing system.
- Use initiative to price projects, referencing company cost books and offering value-engineered options as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with sales, production, and procurement teams to ensure estimates meet company and client objectives.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in doorset estimating within both commodity and bespoke markets.
- Strong analytical, numeracy, and communication skills (email and phone).
- Experience with door scheduling and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently to deadlines.
- Flexibility to support related business areas such as door kits and timber pricing.
- Ideally trained to diploma level with the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers or Fire Door Alliance, or willing to work towards these qualifications.
- Experience with RTIS (Real Time Information Systems) is advantageous.
