Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A small, friendly mainstream primary school in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their SEND unit full time from September 2025.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with pupils with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties - some of whom are non-verbal. You'll be part of a well-established and supportive team of experienced staff, delivering high-quality, nurturing support to help every child thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEND

  • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and behaviour support plans

  • Create a calm, positive and inclusive environment for learning

  • Support communication using visual aids, PECS, or other relevant tools

  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and external professionals

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, and/or non-verbal communication

  • A calm, patient and approachable manner

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

This is a full-time position, term-time only, with working hours of 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
