Role Overview:We are seeking a committed and passionate Teaching Assistant to support teachers and enhance the learning experience of students. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and able to provide support to students across a range of subjects and age groups. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the education sector while making a positive impact on young learners. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring students' needs are met.
  • Provide one-on-one support or work with small groups of students to reinforce learning.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and help to implement individualised learning plans.
  • Help students with their work, promoting their academic and social development.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, and lunch times to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
  • Monitor and record student progress and report any concerns to the class teacher or SENCO.
  • Encourage positive behaviour management techniques and promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and development opportunities as required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of the national curriculum and special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude to challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or other learning needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • First Aid training (or willingness to undertake training).
