About the Role
As the Automation & Control Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things related to industrial control systems (ICS). From PLC programming to SCADA development, you’ll ensure our automated systems run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your technical insight will directly influence production uptime and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and electrical control systems.
- Act as the site authority on ICS, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for ICS support.
- Maintain and develop control system documentation and backups.
- Drive obsolescence planning and system upgrades in collaboration with reliability engineering.
- Specify and procure control system components and oversee installations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects.
- Maintain and update electrical schematics and system configurations.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience (5+ years preferred).
- Strong background in PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and SCADA systems (Ignition, InTouch).
- Proficient in industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus).
- Skilled in reading electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Experience in commissioning and supporting automated systems.
- Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR, Lean, Six Sigma, or Process Safety is a plus.
