Our client is a large, independent metals manufacturer. Due to increasing demand, they are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join their busy site in Sheffield.
Duties include:-
- Weekly site machinery inspections and sign off
- Upkeep and maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment
- Carrying out planned maintenance checks
- Emergency breakdowns and repairs
- Daily troubleshooting
- Controlling breakdown / repair documentation
- Fitting together mechanical components, systems, and heavy machinery according to blueprints and schematics.
- Fabrication: Using tools like grinders, saws, and welders to cut, shape, and join metal parts.
- Inspection and quality control: Checking that equipment and assemblies are in good working order and meet specified standards.
Skills Required:
Mechanical engineering background, electrical knowledge would be an additional plus but not mandatory.
This is a 39 hour paid / 41.5hr clocked week.
Any overtime will be paid at time and a third in the week after the completion of 39hrs
Time and a half on Saturdays and double time for Sundays.
