Principal Mechanical Design Engineer – Sheffield – Hybrid – up to £70,000 + Car Allowance
The Role
A Principal Mechanical Engineer is required to take lead on the team & design processes on a range of groundbreaking projects in a range of heavy engineering industries. You will be joining a well-established engineering consultancy.
You will be providing expertise on design of Mechanical Systems & products, provide leadership & mentorship to junior team members, continuous improvement & ensure that all projects and processes are fully compliant with industry regulations.

What makes you a good fit?
- Strong Mechanical system design experience with a solid understanding of associated disciplines including Electrical, Software, Controls, Safety (EC&I)
- To have strong exposure to the full engineering project lifecycle.
- Commercially aware, understanding the impact of design changes in line with contracts.
- Ability to work across cross functional engineering teams
- Strong communicator – experience leading conversations directly with the end client and/or through the project management function.
- *Desirable* exposure to leading the FAT proces
