CRA Consulting is proud to be partnering with Sheffield City Council to recruit for a highly capable Special Educational Needs (SEND) Locum Solicitor to join their legal team on an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity to work remotely while supporting a forward-thinking and supportive local authority. The Role: You'll provide high-quality legal advice and representation on a broad range of special educational needs law matters, including:

  • SEND Tribunal appeals and advocacy in case management and final hearings
  • Advice on policy, procedure, and statutory duties in relation to SEND
  • Supporting decision-making processes with sound, risk-aware legal input

What We're Looking For: We're seeking a skilled and proactive SEND Lawyer who can hit the ground running. You will need:

  • Proven experience in SEND law, with strong tribunal advocacy skills
  • A confident, solution-focused approach to managing a busy caseload
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while remaining a collaborative team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client engagement

  • Duration: Minimum 3 months (with review)
  • Hourly Rate: £55-£60 per hour (via umbrella)
  • Location: Remote working available
