Your new roleAre you a skilled procurement professional ready to take the next step in your career? We're working with a leading national organisation to recruit an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join their high-performing team.This is a remote-based role with occasional travel to offices in Yorkshire, offering the opportunity to shape procurement strategy and manage a diverse portfolio of supply contracts across key categories. You'll play a vital role in delivering cost-effective, compliant, and sustainable procurement solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading category-specific procurement strategies and contract work plans
  • Managing end-to-end tender processes and supplier negotiations
  • Driving cost savings and increasing contract coverage
  • Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring KPIs and SLAs are met
  • Providing expert procurement advice and supporting best practice
  • Analysing spend data and developing market intelligence

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in procurement and supplier management
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A solid understanding of procurement best practice and e-Procurement tools
  • Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities
  • A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to travel nationally when required
  • Corporate or Indirect experience would be highly advantageous with experience in managing categories such as Utilities, Waste or Facilities.
  • Holding a CIPS qualification or working towards it would be preferred.
  • Experience or an understanding of Public Sector procurement or the Procurement Act 2023 would also be advantageous
