Elevation Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Trainee Machine Setter / Operator to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business within their operations team. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of materials through sawing operations, using a range of saws.This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong team-oriented approach.
Trainee Machine Setter / Operator
Location: SheffieldSalary: £28,000 Hours: Rotating shifts – Mornings & AfternoonsContract: Permanent
Responsibilities:- Operating semi-automatic saws in line with the production schedule
- Extracting materials using lifting equipment, including slings, cranes and FLT
- Moving jobs through the system using PDA operations
- Weighing, measuring, and inspecting materials prior to dispatch
- Packing and dispatching goods
- Part marking and deburring cut billets
- Maintaining cleanliness using floor cleaning equipment and general housekeeping
- Managing swarf and ensuring clean handovers at shift changeovers
- Monitoring and reporting maintenance requirements to the Operations Manager
- Managing coolant and blade stock levels
- Supporting other team members and assisting with wider manufacturing duties as required
- Adhering to Health & Safety standards and contributing to a positive working environment
- Previous experience operating band saws
- Overhead crane experience
- FLT licence
- Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Computer literate
- Willingness to support with cleaning/maintenance as required
- Previous experience in the metals industry
