Quantity Surveyor – Permanent Role (Somerset)

Mech Tech is currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position based in Somerset. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, competitive salary, and long-term career development within the industrial services sector.

You’ll be supporting a major infrastructure project in Somerset, contributing to the delivery of large-scale industrial works involving mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering packages. The project is part of a multi-billion-pound investment in the region, with a focus on energy, manufacturing, and sustainable technologies.

Role Details

  • Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days home / 3 days site)
  • Hours: 38 per week | Monday–Friday
  • Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum
  • Contract Type: Staff salaried

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial activities on site
  • Prepare and submit EWNs, CEs, and applications for payment
  • Draft, negotiate, and administer subcontracts
  • Support project forecasting, CVRs, and reporting
  • Drive profitability while managing risk

Candidate Requirements

  • Post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience (essential)
  • NEC3/NEC4 contract knowledge (desirable)
  • Industrial services or engineering background
  • Degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Valid CCNSG or CSCS MAPS/Operatives card
