We currently offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate driven Procurement individual to join a successful Fresh Produce group, who strive to supply the best produce from Worldwide Growers to UK Retailers. We have the privilege of working with this expectational supplier and offer the opportunity of Procurement Manager to become an integral member of the Stone Fruit team.
The successful Procurement Manager will take responsibility for the stone fruit supply chain efficiency, driving and developing growth with a focus on profit & loss, procurement strategy, supplier management, and customer satisfaction at the forefront.
We are seeking an experienced individual from the Fresh Produce / Stone Fruit sector, having worked as a Procurement Manager / Buyer / Technologist, with specific stone fruit product knowledge. With experience of working with retail customers, understanding the quality & service levels expected, to accompany the ability to work with a portfolio of growers / suppliers to achieve a high level of continuity is key to success in this fast-paced environment.
An additional language would be beneficial for this position, with a high level of financial, negotiation, and procurement skills being paramount
Key responsibilities.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives for raw material and production processes
- Manage Compliance documentation, Supplier Risk Assessments alongside the Technical team
- Working with suppliers to ensure compliance, efficiency, and effective communication to ensure the successful supply of quality product categories
- Working with the supply base at source in the respective locations across the globe.
- Communicating with the UK based Technical Team and setting and upholding quality standards during growing and packing.
- Monitoring programmes
Requirements.
- Experience gained at a senior level in Buying / Procurement / Technical within Fresh Produce, stone fruit being an essential criteria
- Professional and confident, with the ability to communicate at all levels
- An understanding of the Fruit Fresh Produce Supply Chain
- Numerically minded and confident working with data
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft systems
This role requires a passionate, organised and pro-active individual, confident in a fast-paced & demanding environment, with the ability to meet deadlines and tight timescales.
Hours; Monday - Friday
Competitive Salary up to £80k + other benefits included
Location Kent / South East with the ability to travel frequent overseas
