Quantity Surveyor

We are currently looking for an experineced Quantity Surveyor to start permanently with a mechanical and electrical construction firm.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional individual to become established within a highly regarded construction client based in Kent but working around the south-east. Office based 5 days a week, outside Faversham.


The qs role

  • Produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value
  • Preparing tender packages for main contractor and subcontract works
  • Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget
  • Ensure contract variations are identified, valued and turned into agreed variation orders with the customer in a timely manner
  • Ensure that each sub-contractors account is managed strictly in accordance with their terms and conditions
  • Vetting tenders
  • Variations and claims - facilitate the resolution of disputes relating to outstanding payments to subcontractors and creditors
  • Producing monthly contract reports detailing current status of the contracts, including cash flow forecasts and liabilities
  • Provide input in construction project commercial/legal/strategic meetings


Candidates must have -

  • A full QS accredited qualification.
  • Extensive experience in the Quantity Surveying related to construction
  • Experience in administering main contractor or client accounts to final agreement, with a successful run of closures of these accounts with the client
  • Knowledge of the residential and construction market
