9am-5.30pm

£30,000 - £33,000 basic with up to £3,000 disc bonus

Key Responsibilities

Cash Collection

  • Manage cash collection for both branch and corporate accounts.
  • Proactively chase outstanding payments through various channels.
  • Minimise overdue debt, particularly in the 60- and 90-day categories.

Cash Allocation

  • Process BACS and cheque payments, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts and specific invoices.
  • Regularly reconcile ledgers and unallocated cash.
  • Perform weekly reconciliation of cash sale accounts.

Credit Management

  • Monitor accounts exceeding 20% of their credit limit and submit reviews as necessary.
  • Ensure accounts remain within approved credit limits.

Credit Holds

  • Place accounts on hold when appropriate.
  • Communicate hold status clearly to both internal teams and external customers.

Customer Queries

  • Handle inbound calls and correspondence regarding account queries.
  • Record all interactions accurately and promptly.
  • Collaborate with branch teams to resolve issues efficiently.

Escalation

  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Line Manager in a timely manner.

General Duties

  • Produce customer reports and perform general administrative tasks as required.
  • Provide cover for absent team members when needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a credit controller role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates energy, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High level of numerical accuracy and reconciliation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of learning internal systems quickly.
