I am recruiting for an Import Manager for a leading international logistics provider with over 20years of experience in transport solutions is seeking an Import Manager to head UK imports and customs operations, ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient clearance of all inbound international shipments.

You will be required to:

  • Lead a dedicated team of customs professionals.
  • Drive operational excellence while maintaining strict compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Play a key leadership role in a fast-paced, globally connected environment.

Your Role:You’ll be at the helm of import operations, ensuring every customs entry is accurate, timely, and fully compliant. This includes managing HMRC Duty and Tax processes, reconciling accounts, and streamlining procedures for maximum efficiency. As the go-to expert, you’ll liaise with customers, customs authorities, and internal teams, delivering both operational and strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the imports & cargo customs team.
  • Process customs clearance entries (CDS) for courier/cargo shipments at LHR, MAN, EDI & GLA.
  • Oversee job creation, billing, and compliance processes within Boxtop and Customs Central (Sequoia).
  • Maintain full compliance with HMRC customs clearance procedures.
  • Stay ahead of changes in customs legislation and ensure the team is informed.
  • Manage HS code classification, valuation, and origin declarations.
  • Oversee low-value (BIRDS) and high-value clearances.
  • Reconcile Deferment and FAS accounts monthly.
