Your new companyDue to the partnership Hays have with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, we are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Senior Care Assistant to join one of their services. Your new roleThe service is a 16-bed dementia care service where the severity of patients' needs differs. As a senior CA, you will be taking on managerial tasks in the absence of the service manager and assisting and training care assistants.This position is for 23.5 hours per week and shifts will be on a rolling rota basis. The rota is across weekdays and weekends, with you expected to work every other weekend.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this post, you will need to have a minimum of NVQ L2 in Health and Social Care and have a minimum of 2 years' experience of working with vulnerable adults, adults with disabilities and adults with dementia. You will also be required to have knowledge of the care standards and CQC inspection framework. You will also need knowledge of medication handling and an in-date manual handling certificate.What you'll get in returnYou will be paid a competitive hourly rate and have a guaranteed long-term, full-time role for 3 months, with further opportunities for permanent opportunities.
