About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Controller for a 12-month fixed-term contract to support a large, complex business through a key period. This role is critical in ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, group consolidations, and statutory reporting.

You will be working closely with two subsidiaries under demanding group deadlines, so strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to work under pressure are essential. The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative approach and a positive mindset, alongside experience in a large entity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process across the group, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Manage group consolidation reporting and preparation of group accounts
  • Ensure strong financial controls are in place and adhered to across all entities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for a small finance team, including line management duties
  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders across subsidiaries to meet strict group reporting deadlines
  • Contribute to process improvements and control enhancements
  • Support the annual audit and liaise with external auditors as required

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a large, complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and group consolidation processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and collaborate across departments
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
  • Positive, hands-on, and solution-focused attitude
