Coats Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our longstanding automotive client for an experienced and driven SHEQ Manager to join their team.

The role:You’ll work closely with project managers and leadership teams to implement and maintain robust SHEQ systems across multiple sites. This includes driving compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, and 27001), leading risk assessments, managing audits, and encouraging a proactive health & safety culture throughout the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to embed SHEQ practices across all projects
  • Lead inspections, audits, and investigations - ensuring corrective actions are in place
  • Oversee training, reporting, and documentation in line with ISO and UK legislation
  • Support tender processes and ensure pre-qualification documents are up to date
  • Regular travel to customer sites (approx. 2 days a week)

What we’re looking for:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification
  • Strong working knowledge of UK H&S regulations and ISO standards
  • Confident communicator with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Previous experience in a SHEQ role within engineering, construction, or manufacturing
  • Full UK driving licence

Bonus if you have:

  • Chartered IOSH or IIRSM status
  • Experience across multi-site operations
  • Familiarity with BS EN 1090, UKCA/CE marking
  • An understanding of mechanical handling systems
