This is such an exciting opportunity for someone with strong communication and relationship-building skills to step into a role that blends finance with customer service. Working for a retail business based in Solihull, you'll be taking full ownership of customer payments and ensuring the finance owed to the business is collected smoothly - but always with a people-first mindset.

This is not your typical finance role. It's all about the relationship. When you prioritise communication and service, the payments follow. You'll be calling, emailing, and occasionally meeting with customers of the business to maintain warm, productive relationships - helping them stay ahead of upcoming payments and resolving any issues before they become problems. This is a temporary-to-permanent position, designed to give you a proper trial period before moving into a permanent role. The role is based full time in the office, and is ideal for someone immediately available or on a short notice period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of all incoming payments owed to the business
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers - over the phone, via email, and occasionally face-to-face
  • Proactively reach out to customers in advance of payment deadlines
  • Resolve invoice or account queries swiftly and professionally
  • Liaise internally with management to flag any delays or issues with payment
  • Keep clear, organised records of customer contact and debt positions
  • Report regularly on what's due, what's overdue, and why
  • Represent the business with warmth and professionalism at all times
