Job Responsibilities

  • Undertake general street cleansing duties in the Mendip area of Somerset, including litter and dog bin emptying, litter picking, manual sweeping, and fly tip removal.

  • Start work at the depot in Glastonbury at 5/6am, requiring local residency.

  • Operate mobile equipment such as a work van or street barrow, necessitating a driving licence.

  • Work schedule includes Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

  • Carry out street cleansing operations to enhance and maintain the environment with minimal disruption to customers.

  • Drive a non-LGV vehicle and machinery as needed, ensuring proper care and maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tyre pressures, and cleanliness.

  • Report on completed work and any health and safety concerns to supervision or Operational Management.

  • Operate tools and equipment safely, following manufacturers' instructions.

  • Maintain accurate records such as timesheets, tick sheets, and defect report forms.

Person Specifications

  • Essential: Good standard of education and a full UK Driving licence.

  • Essential: Self-motivated with the ability to provide quality service with minimal supervision.

  • Desirable: Experience in a hands-on, physical role.

  • Desirable: Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
