If you come to work with us in this role you must have experience in both public and private law children work and you will work alongside our Department Head with the support of your own full-time experienced family legal secretary.
This is a full-time role, but could be negotiable for the right applicant.
We are not currently accepting divorce or financial arrangements matters and this role focuses on Public & Private Children Law.
We need someone who can :
- Provide , clear, compassionate, and comprehensive legal advice across a varied caseload of public and private children matters,
- Guide and support our clients through PLO processes and social services meetings,
- Work directly with clients, supporting them during emotionally challenging circumstances,
- Handle advocacy at all levels in the Family Courts,
- Manage their work to comply with our Legal Aid Contract and Lexcel Quality Mark,
- Be a member of the Law Society Children Panel or intend to work towards membership with our support.
Your qualities
If you are a qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 3 years post qualification experience in children law, both public and private, we would be interested to hear from you.
You must have;
- A thorough understanding of family care law and procedures,
- A genuine interest in helping vulnerable families and children,
- Confident in independent caseload management, providing legal advice and working alongside other professionals.
- A commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and high service standards,
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team,
- Have strong advocacy skills,
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and,
- Proficiency in using a case management system and legal IT platforms (we will provide training on our systems and methods of working),
- A desire to engage in ongoing learning, development, and supervision.
The ideal lawyer will be a member of the Law Society Children Panel or intend to work towards membership with our support.
