Join, a well-established childcare provider known for delivering high-quality early years education and care. We are looking for an experienced, flexible, and highly organised Finance and Administration Officer to support the operational excellence of the nurseries. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely invoicing, and effective communication with families and staff, contributing to the smooth running of our settings.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Financial Administration:
- Manage and reconcile nursery accounts including fees, funding, and petty cash.
- Prepare and issue accurate invoices to families.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Work alongside Nursery Managers to ensure funding claims are accurate and submitted on time.
- Maintain clear, confidential financial records in line with GDPR and regulatory requirements.
- Communication and Relationship Management:
- Serve as a point of contact for fee and payment queries from families, providing clear and supportive communication.
- Liaise with local authorities and funding bodies regarding childcare funding, where necessary.
- Support the leadership team by preparing financial reports and updates.
- General Administrative Support:
- Monitor and respond to finance-related email correspondence promptly.
- Assist with administrative duties as required, including supporting compliance and regulatory paperwork.
- Ensure financial procedures reflect best practice within the early years sector.
- Flexibility and Team Support:
- Travel between settings to support on-site financial tasks or meetings.
- Build strong working relationships with nursery managers, staff teams, and external partners.
- Adapt to the changing needs of a dynamic early years environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in financial administration or bookkeeping (experience within early years settings is highly desirable).
- Excellent numerical and organisational skills.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and nursery management software (or willingness to learn).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between settings.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of early years funding streams (such as the 15 and 30 hours entitlement)• Previous experience working in a childcare or education setting
Hours: 40 per week, 9am or 8.30am to 5pm or 5.30pmÂ
Salary between: £27k – £32k
Location: Northolt (requires travel to surrounding area’s including up to Maidenhead). Must hold full UK driving licence
