Are you friendly, reliable, and looking for a rewarding part-time role? Im a bright and witty woman who, following multiple strokes, now has limited vision and mobility. I use a manual wheelchair and can walk short distances with a frame. Im seeking a supportive and personable assistant to help me both at home and out in the community.
Previously very independent, I value engaging conversation and companionship just as much as practical support. I have a great sense of humour (sometimes a little cheeky!) and a passion for fashion and the arts, so shared interests in these areas would be a welcome bonus.
Main responsibilities include:
Providing companionship and social support
Assisting with outings and appointments
Driving me in your own vehicle (wheelchair must fit in car)
Shopping and running errands
Supporting with mobility and manual handling
Preparing light meals/snacks
Ideal qualities and requirements:
Respectful of privacy and confidentiality
Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
Hygienic, tidy, and organised
Physically fit to aid with mobility needs
Patient, friendly, and cheerful
Good communication skills (spoken and written English)
Comfortable around pets (must be dog-friendly)
Non-smoker preferred, or willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
Occasional overnight support may be needed
This role is open to negotiation in terms of hours for the right candidate. If you enjoy meaningful work and building a strong rapport with someone, Id love to hear from you!
