Position Overview

A secondary school in the Bitterne area of Southampton is seeking a passionate and committed Religious Education Teacher to join their Humanities department after October half term. This long-term role offers the exciting opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right candidate.

The successful teacher will deliver inspiring RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity, respect, and engagement in students of all abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators to contribute to a thriving school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive RE lessons that promote critical thinking and respect for diverse beliefs.

  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress with regular feedback.

  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department.

  • Create a positive classroom environment with high expectations for achievement and behaviour.

  • Support whole-school initiatives and contribute to extracurricular activities.
