Join Our Dynamic Team as an Operations Manager!

Are you a motivated leader ready to make a significant impact in the manufacturing industry? We are a trusted partner in import and export, renowned for delivering excellence. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic Operations Manager to oversee our manufacturing facility located in Southend-on-Sea.

About the Role:

As the Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in driving operational excellence by managing production, customer service, finance, and technical staff. Your primary focus will be on optimising production processes, ensuring health and safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and enhancing overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring smooth production processes.
  • Implement strategies to boost productivity, minimise downtime, and reduce production costs.
  • Set and manage operational budgets effectively.
  • Monitor stock levels to meet production demands seamlessly.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain best health and safety practises in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and support employee development.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, expansion, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate on procurement to enhance supplier and vendor relationships.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum five years of experience in planning and managing complex manufacturing operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and related regulations.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of environmental health and safety in manufacturing.
  • Experience in BRC-led companies and familiarity with ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Hands-on approach with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Highly numerate and analytical with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional team-building and management capabilities.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.

Package:

Salary: 70,000 p/a

Benefits include; car allowance, private medical insurance, 5% pension contributions, 34 days annual leave allowance (including bank holidays).

Standard working hours 9am till 5pm, Monday to Friday
