Our client, a leading manufacturer in their sector, is currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.
As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for all Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) matters to ensure the safe and compliant operation of the business. Your duties will also include administrative responsibilities such as conducting audits, maintaining documentation, and delivering training.

As the Trainee Health and Safety Officer, your duties will be: -
" Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation
" Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards
" Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, and produce detailed reports with recommendations
" Deliver health and safety training and inductions to employees and contractors
" Maintain accurate records of health and safety audits, inspections, incidents and training
" Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
" Promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation
" Keep up to date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practice
" Assist with environmental management duties where applicable (e.g. waste disposal, spill response)
" Advise management on health and safety matters and recommend improvements


The successful Health and Safety Officer will have the following skills:

" Previous experience within a similar role
" IOSH OR NEBOSH preferred
" Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation
" Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage staff at all levels
" Confident in delivering training and leading toolbox talks or safety briefings
" Competent in writing reports, policies, and risk assessments
" Full UK driving licence
