My client based on the outskirts of St Ives Cambridgeshire are currently recruiting for an

NPI and PCB Rework Operative to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

You will be competent in using a variety of different rework tools, equipment and BGA and other rework stations ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained.

  • Salary - £25-26,000 DOE
  • Own Transport required due to location.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Rework of production PCB’s from the AOI systems using the networked rework and repair stations.
  • Able to work and solder to IPC-610 and J-Std standards.
  • Using BGA rework tools and ERSA rework station to efficiently rework PCB’s.
  • To support the inspection team using your experience and problem-solving skills.
  • To undertake occasional board and product inspection when required (holiday / sickness cover).
  • To work closely with Production Supervision, Engineering team, and colleagues to resolve issues affecting NPI builds, manufacturing, quality and production yield.
  • To organise, control and prioritise a constantly changing workload.
  • To become competent and operate X-ray inspection machine, investigate build and quality defects.
  • Training will be provided where necessary.

Job Purpose:

  • Follow written instructions and procedures when reworking or modifying PCB assemblies.
  • Undertake inspection, analysis, rework or modification of assembled SMD and PTH PCB’s for NPI build, customer returns and modifications using inspection equipment, and Nikon X-ray.
  • Support and feedback NPI build, work detail and assembly notes to improve quality and output.
  • Competent working with a range of hand tools, specialised inspection and rework equipment.
  • Willingness to undertake other work as assigned when requested.
  • A flexible attitude towards working hours, a competent, keen personality and willingness to learn and work in a team
