Job Overview

A well-established manufacturing business is recruiting a Stores Supervisor to manage warehouse operations, goods inwards, stock control, and stores staff within a fast-paced engineering environment. This role would suit an experienced Warehouse Supervisor, Stores Team Leader, or Materials Controller with strong organisational and people-management skills.

Responsibilities Summary

  • Oversee day-to-day stores and warehouse operations, including goods inwards, picking, spares, and dispatch

  • Ensure accurate booking of materials and maintain high levels of stock control and inventory accuracy

  • Coordinate picking of materials for production and resolve shortages or discrepancies with purchasing and engineering teams

  • Manage spares picking, packing, and collections to agreed timescales

  • Organise regular stock checks, cycle counts, and support stocktakes

  • Supervise, train, and support stores staff, ensuring safe working practices and procedural compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient stores environment

  • Provide a responsive internal service to production and factory teams

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Stores Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, Materials Supervisor, or Stock Controller

  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, production, or industrial environments

  • Strong stock control, inventory management, and goods-in experience

  • Confident supervising and training warehouse or stores staff

  • Familiar with ERP / MRP systems (desirable)

  • Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong focus on health & safety and process improvement
