Your new role
As an Agent, you will be responsible for managing the construction of a specific section of works. This involves overseeing various tasks within your section to ensure they are effectively planned, scheduled, executed, and handed over with precision.
In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the operational activities within your area, leading the strategic and long-term planning of the works. You must ensure that the construction complies with the design and contract requirements. You will be accountable for the timely and thorough handover of your assets.
Duties:

Communicate effectively: Engage with other engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives.Prioritise the wellbeing of your team: Support and encourage their development.
Support your engineering team: Encourage their growth and development.
Set and monitor goals: Input into your direct report's annual goals and regularly check on their progress.
Ensure design compliance: Make sure the delivery team is working to the latest design and fully understands it.
Temporary Works Design Briefs: Write and/or review these to the acceptance of the TWC.
Programme management: Produce whole life programmes for your works and update them at suitable intervals. Resource load the programmes to control interfaces and continuity.
Review and approve supply chain programmes
Project contributions: Understand, challenge, and contribute to the project's CL32 programmes.
Payment applications: Review the supply chain application for payments for your package.

What you'll need to succeed
A degree in a Civil Engineering-related field or an HND in Civil Engineering
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication abilities with diverse audiences.
Have knowledge and understanding of temporary works processes, design, and management.
Understand construction contracts through experience and formal training, ideally NEC4.
SMSTS
CSCS
Experience in delivering major highways schemes
