We at Randstad are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sub Agent to manage small-value civil engineering projects and provide support on larger schemes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, environmental performance, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Delivery: Manage project programmes, interpret drawings and specifications, provide engineering support, ensure proper inductions for staff and subcontractors, represent the company to clients and stakeholders, produce accurate reports, chair site meetings, and obtain as-built information.
- HSEQ Management: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company procedures and legal obligations (including environmental compliance), manage HSEQ documentation, conduct regular inspections, and liaise with relevant external parties. Ensure high-quality, defect-free project delivery.
- Cost Control: Manage the project budget, actively seek cost savings, and maintain detailed site records.
- Resource Management: Proactively identify and resolve resource issues, ensuring complete and accurate resource records.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Considerable experience in civil engineering.
- Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control (including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting).
- Good knowledge of civil engineering specifications and testing regimes.
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Valid CSCS, SMSTS, and NEBOSH/IOSH cards.
- Full driving licence.
- Excellent communication, people, and team management skills.
- Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems effectively.
