Assistant Management Accountant

Haydock - Hybrid

£35,000 + study support

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth commercial analysis of monthly management accounts while proactively managing cost centres.
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts for UK&I trading operations, in line with the reporting timetable.
  • Produce and interpret regular reports that reflect the true financial health of the business.
  • Compile month-end profit and loss (P&L) summaries for review by Finance Business Partners.
  • Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and margin variance investigations as part of the month-end close.
  • Support budgeting and re-forecasting efforts alongside Finance Business Partners.
  • Play an active role in preparing for half-year and year-end external audits for the UK&I trading portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, fostering a supportive team environment.
  • Take ownership of personal growth through continuous learning and development opportunities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Review transactions pre- and post-month-end to ensure data integrity and completeness.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests and analysis as assigned by the Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager.
  • Track performance trends and collaborate with Finance Business Partners to recommend and execute corrective measures.
