Our client are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead their financial operations and support strategic decision-making during a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. You will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and insights that support business decision-making, ensuring effective financial control and performance across the organization.Â
This position can pay between £50,000 - £60,000 pro rata per annum, and has a hybrid working scenario of 4 days in the office and 1 day from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure all entries are supported and accurate, including intercompany transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
- Perform variance analysis and provide commentary to explain financial performance.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads.
- Oversee financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and debt control.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Process global payrolls for our EMEA, US, and APAC offices, including ensuring accurate commission calculations.
- Assist external accountants with VAT return submission.
Requirements:
- Professional accounting qualification is preferred or in progress.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a finance role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of financial regulations and standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).Â
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
