Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a role that offers excellent pay, varied work, and a shift pattern that gives you 6 days off in every 10?We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in St Neots for a Dual-Skilled Maintenance Fitter to join their skilled and supportive maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, mechanically strong engineer who enjoys fault-finding, keeping production moving, and working with a wide range of equipment.What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Mechanical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs across factory equipment
  • Supporting production teams with setups and equipment optimisation
  • Rapid response to breakdowns to keep operations running smoothly
  • Preventive maintenance (PPM) and ongoing reliability improvements
  • Fabrication and installation of machinery when required
  • Working safely and contributing to a strong safety culture
  • First-line response for site services (boilers, chillers, air compressors)
What You’ll Need:
  • Recognised mechanical apprenticeship (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Experience maintaining production equipment in a fast-paced setting
  • Solid fault-finding skills with a hands-on, proactive approach
  • Machining and/or welding experience
  • Ideally dual-skilled with some electrical knowledge
  • Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance logging systems
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent is a bonus
  • Reliable, team-focused, and safety-conscious attitude
