Job Title:Logistics Supervisor

Salary: £35,000 to £37,000 + Package (Monday - Thursday 07:15 - 16:45 - Friday 07:45 - 11:45)

The Company
We're working with a UK based, market leading manufacturing business, who have a highly impressive and diverse portfolio. Seeking a Logistics Supervisor to add to their established team, you will be joining at a very pivotal time.
This role is an on site position based in Staffordshire.
The Role
- Manage a Team of x4 Direct reports and circa x30 in-directs.
- Responsible for deputising for the Logistics Manager, during periods of absence.
- Oversee a team of Logistics colleagues, ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the inventory control area and the Goods In and Dispatch area.
- Ensure all stock is correctly located, accounted for and responsible for the stock control of all items received into the business.
- Responsible for the accurate recording of all stock, updating the SQCDP Board on a daily basis role and to ensure all parts are received, transactions completed, and items put away in a timely manner.
- Responsible for parts from time of receipt until time of put away in the correct locations.
- Drive continuous improvements within the area through the SQCDP measures, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Conduct structured morning meetings and further daily communication with the team to ensure clear communication of targets and objectives. Frequent communication of SQCDP status and targets.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with customers and suppliers, providing clear communication on all aspects of day-to-day operations.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with the purchasing department.
- Ensure that all Company policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to which promote the Company's culture.
- Collaborate with the H&S officer and committee to reduce risks in the area through effective risk assessments.
- Ensure a safe working environment through regular safety controls audits.
- Investigate accidents and enforce all safety controls (method statements and risk assessments) in the area.
- Carry out full Investigations into stock losses and provide clear accurate responses to the Logistics Manager concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Accountable for the accuracy of all Company owned stock in all locations.
- Locating items as quickly as possible after receiving them to BC.
- Participate in any ongoing investigations and provide clear accurate responses to Customer Concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Report any quality concerns to their line manager and actively seek to improve quality whilst carrying out their duties
- Comply with Company quality standards.
- Regular communication with the Purchasing Team to ensure that they are informed of over stock and early receipts.
- Constantly strive for productivity gains through VA activity and removal or 8 wastes.
- Engage team in Ci activities, Kaizen, 5S and problem-solving activities (Project Charters, Challenge Zero)
The Candidate
The successful candidate for the Logistics Supervisor opportunity will have the following skills and experiences:
- 5+ years of Supervisory / Management experience in a Manufacturing and Production environment - Essential
- Familiarity with problem-solving, lean thinking and lean manufacturing techniques such as Kaizen, 5S, CI - Essential
- In-depth understanding of Logistics / Manufacturing processes - Essential.
- Good knowledge of ERP / SQCDP - Essential
- Computer literacy in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint presentation skills - Essential
- Be commutable to Staffordshire - Essential.
