We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Assurance Manager to be based in Essex, working a huge infrastructure project that will see a 2nd rail terminal being built so extensive investment and construction.

A leading global infrastructure organisation is seeking a H&S Assurance Manager to oversee HSE compliance on a major construction project in Essex. This is a pivotal role ensuring contractors and consultants meet stringent health and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assure contractor and consultant H&S plans and performance
  • Conduct daily and weekly site inspections, focusing on high-risk activities
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions
  • Maintain and monitor risk registers and emergency preparedness protocols
  • Support onboarding, training, and cultural development around H&S
  • Evaluate H&S elements in tender submissions and contractor onboarding

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification; project management credentials desirable
  • Proven experience managing H&S on large-scale construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction operations in logistics or terminal environments
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
