Curriculum Manager – Business & Finance

  • Salary Scale: £44,306 - £47,806 per annum

We are seeking a Curriculum Manager for Business & Finance to lead a team within this curriculum area. This role involves teaching, assessing a range of courses, and acting as a tutor to groups of students. The successful candidate will uphold rigorous quality assurance and improvement standards and contribute significantly to our strategic priorities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the staff within the curriculum area of Business and Finance, ensuring the delivery of innovative and market-leading learning programmes.
  • Teaching and Learning: Teach and assess courses within the subject area, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment are maintained.
  • Quality Assurance: Act as the lead internal verifier within the programme area, implementing and overseeing the quality assurance framework.
  • Student Support: Manage student behaviours and attitudes, contributing to the college duty manager rota and providing excellent tutoring and pastoral care.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate the effective utilization of staffing and physical resources to optimize the student learning experience.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with the team to liaise with employers and ensure the curriculum is relevant to industry needs, supporting the strategic plan of the college.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: First degree at honours level and a full teaching qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 18 months in a similar role, preferably with relevant and recent industry experience.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of quality assurance, improvement contributions, and effective team coordination.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of curriculum developments in vocational and/or academic learning, and a good knowledge of 16-18 study programme funding arrangements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft packages, interactive whiteboards, MS Teams, SharePoint, VLE, and online tracking & recording systems is desirable.
