Our client, Amarket leading provider of both EV & ICP infrastructure across the UK is on the market to expand their team by adding an experience Civils Supervisor / Team Leader to their team in the Luton / Stevenage region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Civils Team Leader who will lead a Civils Gang of two people. You will be responsible for the installation and signage functions. The candidate will be required to ensure that all work is completed in a safe and professional manner and to a high standard in accordance with our clients technical designs and guidelines.
You will travel nationwide to complete Civil Engineering Works for EV and grid connection projects for our continuously growing client base. Working closely with your dedicated Civils Operative, you will need to ensure your Gangs work is completed in a safe and professional manner and to a high standard in accordance with their Management Systems and Technical Designs and Guidelines. Overnight stays will be required where needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
Excavation works including service trenching.
Operation of small highways and maintenance plant and equipment
Carry out ground surveys and locate underground services using cable avoidance tools
Liaising with on-site representatives and working closely with the site manager & supervisors and in some instances the electrical teams and sub-contractors.
Reading site designs
Managing your company vehicle and ensure it is in good working order at all times and notify management if any repairs are required.
Reporting hazards/near misses using the companies reporting system.
Building foundations, forming concrete bases, laying ducting, reinstating surfaces, creating inspection pits, reinstatement of cable joint bays and cable installation.
Ability to work with a range of colleagues and clients with the ability to deliver great customer service on site,
To highlight any concerns, unsafe conditions or act to your line manager.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven track record of working on or adjacent to the electricity distribution networks
Understanding of the Electrical Safety rules
NRSWA/EUSR/CSCS cards
Mechanical Excavators/CPCS/NPORS cards
Understanding of the Interpretation of mains records
Manual handling training
Winch Training
Towing Licence
Emergency First Aid (advanced)
Risk assessment training
Knowledge of Use of hydraulically operated plant and equipment
Cable avoidance/abrasive wheel training
Full, clean UK driving licence
