Project Manager – Coastal & Marine Infrastructure
Â
About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced civil engineering professional with a love of the sea? This is a rare opportunity to help establish and grow a brand-new civil engineering team within a well-established marine-focused business. You’ll play a key role in shaping strategy, leading delivery, and driving innovation in coastal and nearshore infrastructure projects across Scotland and beyond.
If your experience lies in civil construction and infrastructure delivery, and you’re inspired by working near the water — this role could be an ideal fit.
Â
The Role
As Project Manager, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of coastal civil engineering projects — including piers, slipways, small harbours, and sea defences — from tendering through to completion. Working closely with experienced marine operations teams, you’ll have the autonomy to shape how the civils function develops and grows within the wider business.
Â
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the tendering, planning, and delivery of coastal and nearshore civil engineering projects.
- Manage multiple projects, balancing risks, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Work collaboratively with marine operations teams to coordinate assets and ensure seamless delivery.
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships based on trust and technical credibility.
- Contribute to developing best practices and future strategy for the civil engineering capability.
Â
About You
You’ll be an experienced Project Manager or Civil Engineer with strong site-based experience and a passion for practical delivery. You might come from a background in infrastructure or general civils — but you’ll bring curiosity and enthusiasm for applying your skills in a marine and coastal setting.
Â
Ideal Experience & Attributes
- Significant post-graduation experience in civil engineering.
- Proven track record managing projects in civil construction or infrastructure delivery.
- A personal or professional interest in the sea — understanding how tides, weather, and the coastal environment can influence construction.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills, with a proactive and independent mindset.
- Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on as the team develops.
Â
What’s on Offer
- Salary: £60,000–£70,000, depending on experience.
- Enhanced pension, private healthcare, and life insurance.
- Bonus potential and long-term career growth within an international group.
- The opportunity to build and lead a new civil engineering function from the ground up.
This is an exciting chance to bring your civil engineering expertise to a unique and growing sector — combining your technical skill with your passion for the coastal environment.
If you’re ready to take ownership of something new and make a tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you.
